The Philadelphia Wings, of the National Lacrosse League, will host a free, open-to-the-public “Wings Fest 2011” at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, October 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event features live entertainment, interactive family activities and appearances from Wings players, alumni, Angels dancers and Mad Dog.
Wings Fest 2011 will take place on the concourse of Wells Fargo Center in the Pavilion and 11th Street Atrium. Family activities include live DJ entertainment, player and alumni autograph signings and interactive inflatables. Among the Wings players who will be available for autograph signings include Bill McGlone (Ridley), Brendan Mundorf, Steve Holmes (Germantown Academy) and Brett Manney (Holy Ghost Prep).
In addition, the Wings will be hosting their first ever Wings Lacrosse Academy during “Wings Fest.” The academy is designed to provide instruction from Wings players and coaches and will include specific sessions on: stick stringing, recruiting, chalk talk Q&A and floor time on the home turf of the Wings.
The academy will also take place at Wells Fargo Center and will be divided into four boys age groups (U17, U15, U13 and U11) with a limited number of spots available in each group. Early Bird registration for the Wings Lacrosse Academy is $80 when you register before Sept. 21, increasing to $100 after that date. Included in the registration fee will be two tickets to four Wings home games during the 2012 season.

Finally, “Wings Fest” will include the annual season ticket holder select-a-seat event. Wings 2012 season ticket holders that have already renewed their seats will be able to select from the available tagged seats in the arena from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. any fans interested in securing season tickets for 2012 will be able to select from remaining available tagged inventory.
