The HEADstrong Lacrosse Club is proud to announce the formation of its Inaugural Girls Competitive Lacrosse Team.

In keeping with HEADstrong tradition, the organization is searching for young ladies that are not only great lacrosse players but also great citizens. Part of the responsibility of being on HEADstrong Girls Lacrosse Team, is giving back to the HEADstrong Foundation through fundraising, participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society “Light The Night Walk”, and The Nick Colleluori Lacrosse Classic, to name a few.

The HEADstrong Foundation is a Philadelphia based non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for blood cancer, founded by Nicholas Colleluori, a former lacrosse standout who lost his battle to this disease in 2006.

Interested girls graduating in the years 2013, 2014, 2015 are invited to try out on Sunday September 18th, 2011 at Widener University’s Athletic Complex in Chester, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration fee is $27 and begins at 10 a.m. Girls can register online at

This year’s team will be coached by Meagan DiCave and Kristin Milewski (see bios below). HEADstrong Girls Lacrosse Team will play in two fall tournaments in 2011 and will stay together for the summer of 2012 with a tournament schedule that is TBD.

Meagan DiCave’s coaching career has been highlighted by Head Coaching at both Wesley College and Holy Family University. Coach DiCave began the program at Holy Family in 2008 and was honored with Coach of the Year after their inaugural season! Her playing career was highlighted by All-American Honors while playing lacrosse at Virgina Weslyan College.

Kristin Milewski has coached at the collegiate level for three years at Rosemont College. Coach Milewski also received All-American Honors while playing her college career at Shippensburg University.
