Friday’s boys’ roundup, Late Edition: Garnet Valley tops Sun Valley; Souderton defeats North Penn

Jules Raucci, Steve Smyrl, and Rob Raucci each scored three goals as visiting Garnet Valley defeated Sun Valley, 13-6, Friday in a non-league boys’ lacrosse game.

The Jaguars, ranked No. 8 in the PA Media Rankings, improved to 8-1.

Kyle Gillam had four goals and two assists for the Vanguards (3-4). AJ Newman made 15 saves in goal.

Lansdale Catholic 9, Father Judge 5

Rich Walsh had three goals and an assist and Kevin Edling added two goals and one assist to lead LC to the Catholic League win.

Emmaus 14, Nazareth 5

Dan Kinek and Zack Schleicher both poured in game-high five points on four goals and an assist as the Green Hornets remained the lone unbeaten team in the Lehigh Valley Conference with an easy win over Nazareth.

Travis Schmidt and Andrew Brown each added a pair of goals in the win while John McGeary and Drew Phillipes added solo tallies.

Nazareth was led by Justin Brown’s two goals.

Souderton 8, North Penn 6

The Indians held off a third-quarter rally by the Knights to win their third straight game. Nick Judge’s groundball and goal with 7:10 remaining broke a 6-6 tie.

J.P. Carroll scored two goals and also had two assists while Tyler Macdougall added one goal and two assists. Bryan Ziegler scored two goals, and Matt Markow and Ridge Schultz each added a single goal.

Grant Nice had 13 saves in goal. Mike Tappen turned away 21 shots in a strong effort in goal for the Knights.

For the Knights, Chris Young scored a pair of goals, and Chris Anton (one assist), Dan Kohler, Adam Wreath and Heinig scored single goals.

Central Bucks West 10, Pennridge 7

Spencer Macquarrie contributed a hat trick while Nate Weiss (one assist) and Matt Adamski each added a pair of goals. Evan Gervais (one assist), Riley Kratzke and Johnny Kirchner each added single goals. Kratzke also had three assists, and Jack Firriolo had a pair of assists.

The Rams received a pair of goals from Eric Fernandez (one assist), James Marrero and Matt Brown (two assists). John Matz added one goal and two assists.

Jake Ross turned away 12 shots in goal for the Bucks while Pennridge’s Brian White had 13 saves.

Central Bucks East 11, Central Bucks South 1

Chris Vetter and Parker Self each scored three goals to lead the Patriots. Brandon Ament added a pair of goals, and McSherry, Matt Brodzik and Ethan Debuque added single goals.

Upper Moreland 14, Cheltenham 12

Ryan Christiansen contributed three goals and one assist and Talon Blickley scored three to lead the Golden Bears.

Andrew Benner, Ellis Fatizzi and John Lance each scored two goals, and Steve Fleming and Austin Sgro both had single goals. Fatizzi also had two assists while Sgro and Brian Callahan each contributed one assist.

Spring-Ford 16, Phoenixville 0

Paul Major and Drew Thomas singed the nets for four goals apiece to power the Rams to a rare shutout win.

The Rams (7-0 PAC-10, 8-1 overall) also got hat tricks from Brian Bock (2 assists) and Zach Monzo (2 assists).

Owen J. Roberts 17, Perkiomen Valley 9

The three-time defending PAC-champions improved to 7-1 in the league behind five goals and three assists from John Pennell.

OJR, which ran out to an 8-1 lead by the end of the first quarter, also got three goals and three assists apiece from Kohl Batdorf and Jarrett Szczecinski and six points from Tyler Graham (goal, 5 assists).

Perkiomen Valley got a strong showing in net from Bryce Womak, who collected 15 saves. The Vikings offense was paced by Wes Johnson (3 goals) and Ryan Boyd (2 goals, 2 assists).

Henderson 17, Octorara 3

Sebastian Kerslake had three goals and one assist to lead the Warriors to the Ches-Mont win.

Bishop Shanahan 13, State College 3

Dillon Alderman tallied three goals and Keegan Lawton, Joe McErlean and Pete Merion each netted two goals each for the Eagles (4-1) in their non-league win on the road.
