Friday’s boys’ high school roundup: OJR edges Methacton; CBW, SF, GA, Malvern Prep win

Tyler Graham scored three goals and John Pennell added two goals and two assists as host Owen J. Roberts edged Methacton, 9-8, today in Pioneer Athletic Conference lacrosse.

Kohl Batdorf added two goals and Jarrett Szczecinski had a goal and two assists for OJR (2-2 overall, 2-0 PAC-10).

Cody Ridgway led the Warriors with a goal and four assists and Eli Miller won 12 of 17 face-offs and added a pair of goals. attackman Sean Aronow added two goals and an assist.

The visiting Warriors opened the third quarter with a man up goal by Sam McAdoo who added two more goals to get to 6-6. OJR answered with two quick goals to finish the 3rd quarter at 8-6.

Central Bucks West 4, Souderton 1

Jake Ross made 15 saves and allowed only one goal, but his play of the night may have been a full field clear pass to attackman Nate Weiss for the Bucks’ final goal of the night to help CBW earn the Suburban One Continental win.

Strong defense was played by Johnny Kirchner, Mike Carty, Tyler Zalucki, Ward Udinski, Mike Emery, and Will Bone to contain the Souderton offense to one goal. Riley Kratzke (one assist), Nate Weiss, Spencer Macquarrie and Evan Gervais scored for the Bucks.

Tim McIlhenny scored the lone goal for Souderton and Kyle Dusseliere was a standout defensively while Grant Nice had nine saves.

Spring-Ford 17, Pope John Paul II 1

Drew Thomas, Paul Major, Brian Bock and Zack Monzo scored three goals apiece and Matt Glowacki added a pair for the Rams in their PAC-10 win

Norfolk (Va.) 12, Penn Charter 7

Joey Sankey collected three goals, two assists and five groundballs and Jackson Tamasitis made 12 saves for the Quakers (3-2) in their loss at Norfolk.

Malvern Prep 17, West Chester East 0

Mike Dougherty and Keith Dreyer each had three goals and an assist and TJ Hanzsche contributed two goals and four assists as the Friars (4-1) claimed the shutout win.

Germantown Academy 11, Collegiate School (VA) 10

The Patriots improved to 3-0 with the win in Virginia as Connor Crump scored the game-winner on an assist from Beau Jones with 38 seconds remaining.

Central Bucks East 11, North Penn 2

Warren Kuhn (two assists) Ehan Dubuque and Matt Brodzik had two goals each and Chris Vetter added a goal and four assists to lead the Pats to the Suburban One Continental Conference win.

Chris Young and Sean Adams accounted for North Penn’s goals.

East goalie Sean McSherry turned away three shots.
