Recent Virginia graduate Marghi Walters (Penn Charter) has been named to the IWLCA’s Division I Academic Honor Roll for 2011.

Walters, a defender, was a two-year captain and two-year starter for the Cavaliers, who reached the NCAA playoff all four of her seasons in Charlottesville under coach Julie Myers (Harriton alum).

Walters wrapped up her Cavalier career with 17 starts in 18 appearances last season. The Wyndmoor, Pa., native tallied 16 ground balls and five caused turnovers. A defender and two-time team captain (2010-11), Walters graduated with a degree in sociology.

Walters is currently in graduate school at UVA and is on target to graduate with her Masters in Education from the Curry School in May 2012

By virtue of a team grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0, Virginia earned Academic Squad honors.
