Dave Sowers, who built Hatboro-Horsham into a Suburban One Continental Conference power, has been hired as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Wissahickon High.
Sowers compiled an overall record of 137-44 at H-H, and led his team to a share of the Continental Conference crown last year (with Central Bucks East) and a berth in the state tournament. The Hatters were 18-6 in 2010.
Wissahickon, which tied for the Suburban One American Conference crown last year, is coached by Anthony Gabriele.
Sowers joins a Trojan staff already comprised of two former high school varsity head coaches: Jim Simmington (Archbishop Carroll) and Haldy Gifford (Penn Charter).
Hatboro-Horsham earned a state berth with a clutch 11-10 overtime win over Radnor and later was eliminated in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association championship by eventual state champion Conestoga.
