District 1 girls’ lacrosse: Frost, Duckenfield, Meunier help Strath Haven edge Bishop Shanahan, 12-11

Jenna Frost scored four goals and Alex Duckenfield added three goals and two assists while Lela Meunier was a key in the help host Strath Haven defeat Bishop Shanahan, 12-11, today in the first round of the District 1 tournament at Swarthmore College.

The 15th-seeded Panthers improved to 12-7 and will play at No. 2 seed Great Valley on Thursday in the second round. Shanahan, seeded 18th, finished at 9-7.

Meunier made seven saves and had several key stops in the closing minutes. Laura Rowan had a goal and an assist for the Panthers while Morgan Glassford, Lexi Mazur and Sara Labrum each scored once.

For Shanahan, Hannah Goforth scored five goals and Colleen Holmes added two goals and two assists while Kathryn Skahan had a goal and two assists. Summer Jaros had a goal and an assist while Caroline Kuchinsky and Casey Briglia each scored once and Megan Dunn made eight saves.
