Former Ridley High standout Tyler Johnston (midfielder/attackman) has transferred from Georgetown to Hofstra, school officials confirmed.

Johnston was a US Lacrosse All-American and an All-Phillylacrosse.com pick at midfield in 2010 for the Green Raiders. He had 33 goals and 18 assists and also earned First Team Central League honors.
Johnston had 43 goals in 2009 when he also was an All-American and a First Team Central League pick as well as a Third Team All-Phillylacrosse.com selection.
In 2008 Johnston scored 39 goals as an attackman and was a First Team Central League pick and an Honorable Mention All-Phillylacrosse.com choice. That year he was a key member of a Ridley squad that won the Central league crown.
Johnston did not play last year as a freshman at Georgetown and will be a freshman eligible for the Pride.
Johnston played club lacrosse for Team HEADstrong and also volunteered for the HEADstrong Foundation, serving as a member of the Team of Champions to fight blood cancer. He also played for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club.
The HEADstrong Foundation was created by Ridley High grad and Hofstra lacrosse player Nick Colleluori, who passed away while a sophomore at Hofstra in 2006 following a lengthy fight against Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
