Lehigh Valley Conference MVP Dan Kinek poured in a game-high four goals and added two assists as Emmaus held off host Nazareth 9-6 in the semifinals of the LVC playoffs Thursday.
Kinek notched a pair of goals in each half to lead the Hornets (14-5) to their third consecutive appearance in the LVC championship game. Emmaus will see a familiar foe in Monday’s title game (at Nazareth, 7 p.m.) when they play Central Catholic, which outgunned Parkland, 17-14, in the other semifinal. The Hornets swept both meetings from the Vikes during the regular-season winning a pair of one-goal games.
Marc Feldman, Tyler Kennedy, Cole Campbell, Drew Phillipes and Andrew Brown each had solo tallies for Emmaus which led just 4-0 at the half.
The heavily-underdog Blue Eagles, who cut the deficit to one (4-3) midway through the third period, were led by Justin Brown who had a pair of goals. Teammates Grant Searfoss, Travis Crown, Victor Bill, Jaryd Hartzell each found the back of the net once.

Allentown Central Catholic 17, Parkland 14
Trailing 8-6 at the half, Central Catholic erupted for 11 second half goals to defeat Parkland 17-14 in the first Lehigh Valley Conference boys semifinal at Nazareth.
Tyler Albanese scored three of his four goals in the second half while Kevin Gulyas (three goals, two assists) and Adam Wydra (three goals) added a pair of second half tallies for the Vikings who improved to 16-3 overall. Matt Savage also added a pair of goals and three assists. Goalie Bob Hayman was outstanding in the second half for Central.
Parkland, which fell to Central Catholic for the third time this season, was led by senior Kurtis Kaunas who had a game-high eight-point performance on five goals and three assists. Teammate Dan Minnich had a six point game on three goals and three assists. Andrew Seip and Andrew Bungert added a pair of tallies for the Trojans who fell to 13-5.
