Tyler Albanese stole some of the thunder from Parkland’s Senior Night as the Allentown Central Catholic senior attackman scored a season-high six goals in leading the Vikings to a key 14-8 win over the Trojans Friday night.

Central Catholic’s second win over the Parkland this season left Emmaus alone in first place in the Lehigh Valley Conference with one game remaining. The Hornets, who defeated Nazareth 15-4 Friday, sit atop the standings at 8-1 followed by Parkland (7-2) and Central Catholic (6-2).

Emmaus will host Parkland at 7:15 p.m. on Monday night at Memorial Field with the regular-season title and the top seed in the upcoming LVC playoffs on the line. The Hornets will be looking for revenge against its arch rivals after the Trojans won the earlier season matchup, 14-11.

Junior midfielder Kevin Gulyas added a hat trick and an assist in the Central Catholic win, while junior attackman Steve Mussoline added a pair of goals. Senior attackman Adam Wydra contributed a goal and an assist for the Vikings who led 8-3 at the half. Junior goalie Bob Hayman had 10 saves in net.

Parkland was led by senior and Lehigh recruit Kurtis Kaunas who had a five-point game on three goals and two assists. Junior attackman Dan Minnich added a pair of goals and an assist. Between the pipes, junior goalie Andrew Chenworth had eight saves.
