Conestoga senior midfielder-attack Rachel Hanscom has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Wellesley College (Mass).

Hanscom helped the Pioneers finish 12-7 and reach the second round of the District 1 tournament in 2011.

Hanscom is a member of the National Art Honor Society and achieved academic first honors every semester of high school. She also was a two-year captain for the Conestoga squash team and plans to play squash as well as lacrosse at Wellesley.

Wellesley finished 8-8 in 2011, going 2-4 in the New England Athletic Conference

“I chose Wellesley because I wanted a great liberal arts education,” she said. “I’m not sure what I will major in so Wellesley is the perfect place for me to experiment with all of my different passions.

“I also love Wellesley’s location (just west of Boston) and am looking forward to playing lacrosse as well as squash in school.”
