Neshaminy senior attackman Jimmy Roessner has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Marymount University (Va.).
Roessner, an honor roll student his entire high school career, intends on majoring in Management or Marketing. Last summer Roessner played club lacrosse for Tri-State.
Because of its location and renowned business program Roessner felt that Marymount was a perfect fit.
“I was looking at colleges as a whole, not just in regards to lacrosse,” Roessner said. “They have a great business program and on my visit, I just felt like I belonged there.
“The fact that it’s only 10 minutes away from Washington D.C. offers a lot of great opportunities at internships.”
While on an academic visit to the MU campus Roessner was impressed with the academics.
“They brought a person in that informed the students of some of the internships that are open to the students,” he said. “It was definitely unique to see that in the classroom.”
After winning the first two games of the season, the Redskins are 4-9.
“We’re a very young team, and I need to be a leader and provide maturity,” said Roessner.
