Radnor junior midfielder/attack Natalie Miller has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Georgetown University.

Radnor junior Natalie Miller has committed to Georgetown

Miller, a member of the Philly 4 tournament team last year, felt at home at Georgetown, where her sister, Gabby Miller, is currently a junior member of the women’s socce rteam.

“I chose Georgetown because it seemed to be perfect for me in every way,” Miller said. “The academics are great plus the lacrosse program is really competitive. Also, Georgetown is a beautiful campus with a perfect size that I wanted.”

Miller visited the campus multiple times to see her sister and to meet the lacrosse team. She felt comfortable with the family atmosphere that they provided.

“The time I had with them was great and I could tell that the entire team was a family,” Miller said. “Also, they were all so welcoming and I knew that I could see myself there.”

There are three other Radnor grads on the roster at Georgetown – junior captain Kelly Barnes, junior Molly Early and freshman Kelyn Freedman.

Three of Miller’s teammates have already committed to colleges for the 2011-2012 school year. Midfielder Leah Gallagher has signed with Notre Dame and goalie Annie Woehling committed to Princeton while midfielder Emily Gerber has committed to Division III Williams.

For now, Miller and Radnor (9-1 overall and leading the Central League with a 6-0 mark) are focused on continuing their success in recent years and making a push for a third straight state championship. Miller is confident in the team’s chances this season, despite a reliance on underclassmen.

“Even though a lot of great players have left, a good amount of underclassmen have stepped up and really are making these goals become a reality,” Miller said.
