Two Philly rising senior girls, Downingtown East goalie Allie Murray and Strath Haven midfielder Jenna Frost, have made verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse.
Murray has committed to Notre Dame and Frost has committed to Colgate.
Murray was a second-team Ches-Mont League pick this year for the Cougars, helping them place third in the league and advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association championships as the fifth-place team from District 1. Murray was a member of the Philly team at the Under Armour Underclassmen Games earlier this month and plays club lacrosse for PA Express.
Murray becomes the fourth Downingtown East rising senior to commit to a Division I school. The others are midfielder Kelly Devlin (North Carolina), attack Emily Solenberger (Lehigh) and goalie/attack Marya Fratoni (Navy).
Frost was an honorable mention Central League pick for a Panthers team that shared the league crown with state champion Radnor and Springfield-Delco and placed sixth in the District 1 tourney. Frost, who plays club lacrosse for the Phantastix, joins midfielders Alex Duckenfield (Vanderbilt) and Summer O’Donnell (Lehigh) as rising seniors from Strath Haven that have committed to Division I colleges.
