Unionville rising senior attack Jill Murray has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Lock Haven University.
Murray had 26 goals for the Indians this year, helping them place reach the semifinals of the District 1 and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic association (PIAA) championships.
Lock Haven went 16-2 in 2010, winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title before bowing to rival West Chester in the NCAA semifinals.
“I love the coach and the program and they have the majors that I want to pick from,” said Murray, who is interested in elementary education and business.
Although Unionville graduates a number of key players, Murray is confident the Indians will again challenge for district and state honors in 2011.
“I think we had a really successful season,” she said. “We had 10 great upperclassmen and we grew as a team. We have a lot of young players coming up, and I think we’re going to have a good season next year.”
