Merion Mercy senior attack Margaret Corzel has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at the University of North Carolina.

Merion Mercy defeated Villa Maria Academy, 15-14, for the league title and fell to eventual champion Springfield-Delco, by the same 15-14 count in the second round of the District 1 finals.
Corzel also played on the Philly 1 team that won the US Lacrosse National Tournament crown in May when it edged Baltimore 8-7. She also plays for the Phantastix club team.
Corzel is considering Business as a major at North Carolina.
“It seemed like a fun school to go to,” she said. “The team did well last year, and the coaches were welcoming.”
Corzel is the second member of Merion Mercy’s lacrosse team to commit to a Division I college for lacrosse. The other is senior midfield Casey Rooney (Delaware).
Corzel is looking forward to this upcoming year. “We’ll be looking to win the championship again,” she said.
