Recent Interboro graduate Danielle LaVallee (midfield) will play Division II lacrosse at Widener University.
LaVallee was a Second Team Del-Val League pick this year for the Bucs, the unofficial league champions. She plans to major in nursing.
“I chose Widener because they have a great nursing program and the campus is very close to home,” said LaVallee. “And I absolutely love the campus. It’s beautiful.”
LaVallee also felt comfortable with Pride coach Robin Baxter and her future teammates. “I couldn’t ask to play with a better group of girls,” she said. “They are so nice and make me feel as if I have been with them for a while.”
Widener went 11-7 overall and 8-4 in the Middle Atlantic Conference in 2010, showing much improvement from the year before (8-9 overall). The Pride also qualified for the MAC playoffs this year.
LaVallee was a co-captain for Interboro and also participated in volleyball (Honorable Mention all-league) and swimming. She said the lacrosse season was a success.
“My team did great this year,” she said. “We won Del-Val champs, and really came together as a team.”
