as undefeated league champion, went 18-0 in the regular season and placed fourth in District 1. She collected 63 goals and 23 assists and 86 points and will play for the Philly tam in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games this weekend.

McBride, who also considered Cornell, Villanova, Temple, Delaware and Louisville, plans to major in education (math or social studies) and hopes to coach lacrosse in the future.

“I wanted a big school and it’s really big,” she said. “I really like the coaching staff and the campus is really pretty.

“They have the educational program I wanted and they they have a good five-year master’s program. They also use the Crossfit program for speed and agility that we use at Great Valley.”

McBride, an Honor Roll student, played club lacrosse for PA Express and now plays for Mongoose – coached by Great Valley mentor Joe Tornetta. McBride noted that many of her Great Valley teammates played on the club squad and believes the team began to develop great team chemistry during the summer.

“Our club team got us together. It was surprising how much better we got. All the work really paid off. It was great to have an undefeated season. The post-season could have gone a little better, but I am happy with what we did.”
