Archbishop Carroll rising senior midfielder Alyssa DiBona has committed to play Division I lacrosse at Brown University.
DiBona was an honorable mention US Lacrosse All-American and an Academic

All-American this year for the Patriots, helping them win their 10th straight Catholic League championship and advance to the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament.
DiBona, who id undecided on a major, said she liked the Providence, R.I., campus and academic challenge of an Ivy League school.
“I was looking for a challenging academic sand lacrosse school and I felt Brown offered that to me,” said DiBona, also a first-team Catholic League pick. “I got to visit a few times and had a great time with the players and coaches.
“I loved their campus and the academics are unique. They let you pick what you want to do. I like the liberal arts education.”
DiBona will play for Brown head coach Keely McDonald and assistant Jill DePetris, a former Carroll standout.
Coach McDonald is a graduate of Brown and she knows what it takes to be successful in the classroom and on the field,” said DiBona. “Jill DePetris was really helpful and was positive about Brown.”
DiBona is the third Carroll rising senior to commit to a Division I college. The others are midfielder Hannah Schmitt (Loyola) and goalie Nora McGeever (St. Joseph’s).
“We’ll definitely miss our seniors, but coach (Lorraine) Beers does a good job of getting us ready for the season,” said DiBona. “Our goal is always to win the Catholic League and hopefully we can go further in states.”
