Alex Gajic scored his third goal of the game 2:19 into overtime to give the visiting Colorado Mammoth a 12-11 National Lacrosse League victory over the Philadelphia Wings tonight before 8,201 at the Wachovia Center.

Gajic tallied his goal on the power play. Colorado (2-2) had sent the game into OT when Cliff Smith and Jamie Skewchuk (two goals, three assists) scored twice within less than a minute late in the final period.

The Wings (1-2) seized an 11-9 lead in the fourth period on three unanswered goals by Mat Giles (three goals, two assists), Drew Westervelt (two goals, three assists) and Ridley graduate Bill McGlone (two goals, one assist).

The win made for a glorious homecoming for Mammoth coach and former Wings standout Dave Govett, who moved to the bench as head coach from his general manager spot after the Mammoth started the season 0-2. Govett, who played five seasons with the Wings (1994-98) and helped lead them to three league championships, made his coaching debut Friday when Colorado defeated host Minnesota, 15-14, in overtime..

Geoff Snider completely dominated the face-offs for the Wings, winning 21 of 23 draws and snaring 18 loose balls. Philadelphia took 23 of 27 face-offs overall.

Kyle Wailes added a goal and five assists for the Wings while Thomas Hajek, Dan Teat and Jason Crosbie also scored once each for Philadelphia. Brandon Miller notched 46 saves while Andrew Leyshon turned aside 40 shots for the Mammoth. Ilija Gajic added two goals and two assists for Colorado.
