Villanova head coach Michael Corrado has been named Coach of the Year by PhillyCollegeSports.com. The award comes after Corrado guided the Wildcats to a 10-5 record and a third place finish in the inaugural season of BIG EAST men’s lacrosse.
In addition to Corrado’s honor, junior Kevin Cunningham (Garden City, N.Y.), senior Brian Karalunas (Dewitt, N.Y.), and graduated seniors Paul Webber (Manhasset, N.Y) and Mark Scioscia (East Hampton, N.Y.) were named to the All-Philadelphia Division I Team. The foursome combined for 67 goals, 45 assists and 112 points for the season.
Dexel sophomore goalie Mark Manos (Salesianum School) was named the Player of the Year. Manos was a third-team All-American.
The Wildcats collected several accolades following the conclusion of the 2010 campaign. Corrado was named the BIG EAST Coach of the Year while Karalunas and Webber collected BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year honors, respectively. The duo was also named to the USILA Honorable Mention All-America Team. Cunningham and Scioscia earned recognition to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
