Tuesday’s men’s college roundup: Lehigh rallies for dramatic win, Penn State falls to Bucknell

Freshman Alex Drake scored the game-winning goal with 1:17 remaining in overtime as Lehigh overcame an early 7-2 deficit to down Binghamton, 16-15, Tuesday in dramatic fashion.

Drake’s goal capped an 11-4 run the Mountain Hawks unleashed in the final two quarters and overtime as they pull their record even to 5-5. Senior Brian Bienemann scored six points (four goals) for Lehigh, while sophomore Cameron Lao-Gosney equaled Bienemann with a team-high four goals in the Mountain Hawks third win in their last four games.

Will Scudder (Haverford School) scooped up a game-high 13 ground balls and won 15 of 32 face-offs, while Evan Guerrero and Rich Bradley caused two turnovers each

Bucknell 11, Penn State 9

Matt Mackrides (Malvern Prep) scored four goals and Dave Baker (Haverford High) made 17 saves while defenseman Matt Bernier (Malvern Prep) had a length-of-the field goal for the Nittany Lions (1-7) in defeat.
