Emily Corcoran scored her fifth goal with 21 seconds left to give host Merion Mercy a thrilling 15-14 victory today over Villa Maria Academy, giving the Bears a commanding lead in the Catholic Academies League.
Margaret Corzel had four goals and three assists for Merion Mercy (9-1, 9-0) and Casey Rooney had three goals and two assists. Julianne D’Orazio added two goals and Katrina Keating had one while Corcoran had two assists.
Molly Mullen, Sarah Hospodar, Colleen McGonigal and sophomore Monica O’Hara led the Bears’ defense and goalie Caili Guilday recorded seven saves as Merion Mercy rebounded from a 10-7 halftime deficit.
Villa Maria fell to 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the league, with both losses coming by one goal to Merion Mercy.
Episcopal Academy 18, Agnes Irwin 10
Taylor Trimble had four goals and Blake McGugh had two goals, nine groundballs and four draw controls while Libby Eyre had three goals and eight groundballs to lead EA to the Inter-Ac League win.
Alexa Buckley added three goals and three assists and Lynda Michaels added three goals for EA.
Campbell Crochiere had four goals and four draw controls for the Owls and Lauren Willcox added a goal and three assists while playing strong defense. Chloe Chou had three goals and an assist and Julia Pierce led the defense while Eliza Moran had a solid all-around game with one assist, two groundballs and two draw controls.
Mount St. Joseph 12, Sacred Heart 9
Corinne Caracausa had three goals and two assists and Tara Beppel contributed three goals and one assist while Olivia Gannon scored three goals to lead the Mount to the Catholic Academies win.
Stephanie Finley led Sacred Heart with four goals and two assists and Eileen Dombrowski added two goals and two assists. Molly Rooney led the defense.
Strath Haven 15, Marple Newtown 4
Jenna Frost scored five goals and Ana White had two goals and two assists to help the Panthers earn the Central League win.

Britta Hjelm (three goals, one assist) netted the game-winner 43 seconds into overtime to lift the Pioneers to a thrilling Central league victory over the Rams
Harriton’s Ally McLaughlin and Carolyn Flannery helped set up the game-tying goal with under a minute in regulation by causing a turnover and then Caleigh Foust two goals, two assists) put in a rebound off a Jess Schwab (two goals, two assists) free position shot with less than 10 seconds left.
Amanda Norcini led Conestoga with four goals, Kerstin Hjelm had three goaks, Megan McGillis added three goals and two assists and Sara Priem had a strong game in goal.
Carli Sukonik and Betsy Hurtado each had three goals for Harriton and Laura Walzer added two goals.
Springfield-Delco 10, Penncrest 7
Shannon Burns and Alex Poplawski each had three goals and Val Paolucci had two as the Cougars rallied from a 6-5 deficit to defeat the Lions.
Caroline Moore and Christy Bond led Penncrest with two goals each and goalie Alexa McMeaken was strong in the cage with 11 saves.

Kelyn Freedman tallied six goals to spark the No. 1 Red Raiders.

Kelsey O’Donnell had four goals o lead the Jaguars to the Central League win.

Kristen Bandos had four goals and an assist and Katie Blumenthal added three goals and one assist to help the Irish defeat the Patriots in the Inter-Ac.
Brooke Kiley and Caroline Haynie each had four goals for GA.

Abbie Hartman scored four goals and Dani Horn contributed three goals and two assists to pace the Maidens (8-0) to the non-league win.
Lansdale Catholic 11, Little Flower 10
Katie Gillespie (three goals, one assist) scored in overtime to give the Crusaders an overtime victory in the Catholic League. Erin Bradley added three goals for LC.
Methacton 11, Pottstown 10
Megan Nearing pumped in five goals as the Warriors (6-3, 6-2) dealt the Trojans (7-4, 5-1) their first PAC-10 loss.
Kasey Mock led Pottstown with six goals and established a school record for goals (265). The previous school record of 262 was set by current La Salle University assistant coach Shannon Witzel.
Souderton 17, Perkiomen Valley 7
Lindsay Walbrandt had four goals and one assist, Kirstin Russell had three goals and three assists and Danielle Notvest added three goals and one assist to lead the Indians to the non-league win.
Kaitlin Crouthamel played a strong game in goal and recorded eight saves while Notvest, Carly Anderson and Jenna Hayes all created at least one interception.
Pottsgrove 18, St. Pius X 9
Ashley Delaney had five goals and one assist to lead the Falcons to the PAC-10 win.
Northeast 8, Mastery Charter-Pickett 4
Nichel Bryant pumped in five goals and Lagbeh Weah added three to lead Northeast to the Public League win at Simon Gratz.
Kristel Augustin had a strong game in goal for the winning team. Angie Moore scored three goals for Mastery-Pickett.
Girls’ Hgh 12, Delaware Valley Charter 1
Chastity McClain and Taylor Rand each scored five goals to lead Girls’ High to the Public League win at Simon Gratz. Nahja Martin made some outstanding saves in goal to hold Delaware Valley to only one goal.
Jenkintown 12, Upper Moreland 5
Carolyn Smith collected five goals and two assists while Courtney Smith and Emma Dillon each had two goals to lead the Drakes to the victory.
Kelly Garis had three goals and Lily Smith added two for the Bears.
Great Valley 15, Downingtown West 5
Sara McBride collected four goals and two assists and Jess Nawojski had four goals while Colleen O’Malley had three goals and an assist to lead the undefeated Patriots in the Ches-Mont.
Morgan Obendorfer led the Whippets with three goals.
