Scholastic girls’ roundup: HH downs CR North, 16-12, in District 1 playoffs; O’Hara advances in Catholic League

Lauren Purvis collected five goals and two assists and Cortnee Daley added three goals as visiting Hatboro-Horsham defeated Council Rock North, 16-12, in a girls’ District 1 playoff game.

The Hatters (12-4) advance to play at No. 2 seed Great Valley Thursday at 4 p.m. The Indians closed at 14-2.

Lizzie Carr added two goals and an assist for Hatboro-Horsham and Nicole Beck scored twice while Sarah Hagan contributed a goal and four assists. Kristin O’Brien, Kelly McCartin and Caroline Hagan each scored once for the Hatters.

Jackie Giovinazzo was strong in the cage with 13 saves fdor the Hatters.

Lindsay Rheiner led CR North (14-2) with four goals and one assist and Hannah Plappert had three goals and one assist while Elly Plappert scored three goals. Kara Magley added two goals.

Cardinal O’Hara 9, St. Hubert 8

Megan George pumped in five goals to lead the Lions to the first-round win in the Catholic League championships. O’Hara plays top-seeded Archbishop Carroll today at 7 p.m. at Archbishop Prendergast.

Penn Charter 15, Springside School 14

Blaine Steinberg collected five goals and four assists while Kate Higgins and Kellie Ragg scored four goals each as the Quakers claimed the Inter-Ac League win.

Demi Angelakis added two goals and Meg Curtin made seven saves for the Quakers.
