Lizzy Carney pumped in five goals and assisted on another and Julie Truluck had four goals and an assist to power highly-ranked Unionville to a 16-6 victory over host Garnet Valley Friday in a non-league girls’ lacrosse opener.
Erin Linthicum and Lindsey Smith each added a pair of goals for the Indians, ranked No. 2 in the Pennsylvania Media Lacrosse Rankings. Kathleen Insetta, Lisa Riondet, and Hannah Haskell each added one goal and Melissa Lloyd recorded six saves in goal.
Despite the loss, there were many bright spots for Garnet Valley and its first-year coacg, Kate Henwood,
Goalie Kate Stroup recorded 24 saves and Allie Henry netted three goals while Tori Mitros, Kelsey O’Donnell and Haley Barnes scored one apiece. Annelise Morello added three assists.
