Columbia head coach Liz Kittleman has announced that former University of Pennsylvania attacker Courtney Lubbe (Council Rock North) will join her staff as an assistant coach.

Lubbe graduated from Penn in May 2010, and finished her career a perfect 28-0 in Ivy League contests en route to four conference titles.

“Courtney Lubbe is a fantastic addition to our program,” said Kittleman. “She is a genuine teacher of the game and will offer the leadership necessary to help take this team to the next level. Having been a student-athlete in the Ivy League, Courtney will be able to relate to the players in many different aspects, and will undoubtedly help guide them to success, both on the field and off.”

In addition to winning four conference titles, Lubbe helped the Quakers to three NCAA final four appearances, including the national championship game in 2008. In her final season, Penn won the inaugural Ivy League Tournament title.

The attacker was named to the Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List in 2010 after a breakout junior season. In 2009, the attacker was a first team All-Ivy League honoree and a first team All-Region Mid-Atlantic selection by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
