The Philadelphia Lacrosse Association (PLA) is hosting the 1st Annual Spring Reunion Night at the Races on April 17 from 7-11 p.m. at the Haverford School. The event is being held following the Checking for Cancer Tournament.
The goal of this event is to bring the lacrosse community together and, at the same time, to raise money to support PLA Youth and New Start initiatives, including support for the growing number of PIAA sanctioned high school teams (both boys and girls) in the Philadelphia School District. This year the PLA, working with the Philadelphia School District, has provided well over $15,000 in funds to help underwrite the costs of goals, uniforms, helmets and other equipment to help the first year of Public League play.
Ticket Prices are $75 per person and the PLA is asking for attendees to purchase in advance given the vendor commitments it must make. The cost includes: full buffet, open bar, DJ, Night at the Races (simulcast horse races), Texas Hold-Em tables and Blackjack tables. There also will be live and silent auction items available to bid on with all proceeds going to promote the game of lacrosse.
Those that cannot attend can contribute to the fundraising effort through sponsorship or gifts for the silent auction and raffle. The PLA is selling the tickets in advance with the limit of 300 guests for the evening. So buy early and spread the word.
