Wynnewood native Doug DiSesa, a senior who graduated from Lawrenceville School (N.J.), scored two goals to help Tufts University defeated Salisbury, 9-6, today to claim the NCAA men’s Division III national championship at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

DiSesa, a tri-captain, tallied the first goal of the game and added a second tally late in the first period to stake the Jumbos to a 5-1 lead. Tufts led by as many as 7-1 in the second period and never allowed the SeaGulls to get closer than 7-5.

DiSesa added two groundballs and a caused turnover for Tufts, which finished 20-1 and earned its first NCA crown. Defenseman Nick Mooney (Interboro) had two groundballs and a caused turnover for Salisbury, which closed at 21-2.

Jamie Atkins led Tufts with three goals and D.J. Hessler added a goal and four assists.
