Strath Haven senior defenseman Drew Goff has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Franklin & Marshall College.
Goff was an Honorable Mention Central League pick in 2010, helping the Panthers reach the District 1 playoffs.
Goff chose F&M because of its strong academic and athletic reputations.
“My mom went there and I have always wanted to go there because I feel like it’s a place built for success,” he said. “They also have a great study abroad program and that is important because I would like to spend a semester in Tibet.”
At F&M Goff will be coached by former Penn assistant Todd Cavallaro.
“The coaches are all great, nice and really supportive people that you just want to do your very best for,” said Goff. “After I hurt my knee this summer (torn anterior cruciate ligament) some schools stopped talking to me and lost their interest, but Coach Cav and Coach (Randy) Marks stuck with me.”
Goff plans to major in Psychology with a minor in either business or advertising.
Goff, a player for the PYLA club since 2006, has also been a varsity swimmer and was named Second Team All League. Now he is hoping to recover from his knee injury and help the Panthers challenge in the Central League.
“This year I think we could have a breakout year,” he said. “I hope for us to be in the top five in the Central League. Our offense has some really awesome players and we also have some shut down defenders out there.”
