Methacton senior defenseman Anthony DeSana has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa.

DeSana was a Second Team All-League and First team All-Academic Pioneer Athletic Conference pick in 2010, helping the Warriors finish 10-7 and advance to a league play-in game. He plays club lacrosse for Mesa Fresh 2011.

Methacton's Anthony DeSana has committed to Seton Hill

DeSana – a member of the Distinguished Honor Roll – liked the location and size of Seton Hill, which last year enjoyed its best season ever (10-4).under coach Brian Novotny.

“I liked the team a lot, it’s a small school and I like the location,” he said. “Greensburg is 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh and its close to home, but far enough away.

“I also have a lot of friends in Pittsburgh.”

A starter since his sophomore year, DeSana said Methacton is hoping to challenge for the PAC-10 crown. He is the second Warrior to commit to play college lacrosse; attackman Cody Ridgway recently committed to Division III Eastern.

“Next year we want to go for the league title and at least make it to the payoffs,” he said. “We’d like to beat (league powers) Spring-Ford and Owen J. Roberts; I have never beaten them.”
