Explorers in 2010, when he helped lead them to the District 12 championship and a berth in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) finals. DiFrangia also was a starter as a sophomore when La Salle claimed the first PIAA crown.

DiFrangia, who plays for the Duke’s Lacrosse Club, also was a member of the Philly team at the Under Armour Underclassmen Games early this month.

“I felt comfortable at St. John’s,” said DiFrangia, who plans to study business. “I love the atmosphere and how it’s right next to New York City and the coaches were great.”

DiFrangia, who also plays long stick midfield, will join fellow Philly recruit Joe Venit (Springfield-Delco attackman) at on Long Island.

DiFrangia was a member of a standout defense that last weekend led the Duke’s LC to its fifth straight Champ Camp crown.

“It was a great experience,” he said. “Playing with those kids is unlike playing on any other team. The intensity level of those games is amazing and the players are amazing.”

DiFrangia also felt the 2010 scholastic season was a huge success for the Explorers, who had graduated a large number of Division I players and were not expected to reach the state finals by most followers.

“The returnees were licking their chops all season because we wanted to show people we could make it back there,” DiFrangia said. “A lot of people doubted us and, so, yeah, I was really excited about getting back there. Unfortunately, we lost (10-6), but Conestoga was a great team.”

DiFrangia joins Kevin Forster (attackman, Maryland), Jack Bogorowski (midfielder, Johns Hopkins) and Zack Jones (midfielder, Towson) as La Salle rising seniors that have committed to Division I colleges.
