Great Valley senior long stick midfielder Jesse Horn has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Stevenson University (MD).
Horn was a First Team Ches-Mont League pick last year for the Patriots. He plays club lacrosse for the Duke’s L.C.
An honor student, Horn plans to pick a business major. Stevenson, coached by Paul Cantabene, has finished the regular season ranked No. 1 in the nation the past two years and last season reached the Final Four.
“Coach Cantabene made me feel at home, and the sports facilities are awesome,” said Horn. “They have a brand new weight room and a brand new stadium coming next year. All facilities are top-notch.
“And definitely one of the main motives is that I want to win.”
Horn believes the Patriots will be a challenger in the Ches-Mont race next year.
“We are working hard,” he said. “We lost a lot of seniors, but we have a solid core coming back and a lot of guys that work really hard.”
Horn also wished to thank the Duke’s L.C., and said playing on the team’s fifth straight Champ Camp title squad last summer was a highlight.
