DiPiano, a High Honors student who also won the Presidential Service and warrior awards, will major in Marketing.

“To be honest, I fell in love with the school from the beginning,” he said. “I went to visit last school year and knew from the first visit that it was an awesome fit for me.

“The lacrosse program is outstanding and it really impressed me from the get-go. They have the same mind-set that I do, not to mention great chemistry as a team.”

Last year Eastern was one of the most improved teams in Division III, finishing second in the Middle Atlantic Conference (11-5, 9-2) despite a youthful lineup under second-year coach Brandon Childs.

“Coach Childs and the rest of the coaching staff push their players to do well in the classroom as well as on the field, which really drew me in,” DiPiano said. “It was clear to me Eastern is where I belong.

DiPiano is the third Great Valley senior to commit to play college lacrosse. Eric Gartner (midfielder) has signed with Villanova and Jesse Horn (defenseman) has committed to Stevenson. The Patriots went 7-11 last year, but won four of their final eight games and closed with key victories over Avon Grove and Sun Valley.

“I want to continually get better as the season comes and goes,” DiPiano said. “I also would love to see Great Valley win the Ches-Mont.

“We have a lot of talent and returning expertise, which will yield a better performance on the field. It is a tough goal to achieve, but with the right attitude and work, it is definitely attainable. I expect to have our season last up to and past June 1st.”

DiPiano thanked Great Valley coaches Jason Wolensky (head coach), Tom Boles, and John Lamb for helping in his development.
