Men’s college roundup: Immaculata wins fifth straight, Ursinus improves to 7-0

Tom Hartney (Interboro) and Joe Keller (Owen J. Roberts) each recorded hat tricks as host Immaculata University topped Chestnut Hill College, 12-7, on Wednesday night.

Immaculata improves to 5-2 overall with its fifth straight win as the Mighty Macs set a new season best for wins during the four-year history of the program. Chestnut Hill drops to 3-4 overall.

Keller finished the contest with four points as he added one assist to go along with his three tallies. Hartney had three points, all on goals, while Dante Tuscai (West Chester East) recorded three assists and Ben Tuscai (West Chester East) registered two goals and one assist. Immaculata also got scores from John Cacchio (Holy Ghost Prep), Brendan Dinneen (Archbishop Wood), Tim Flanigan and Jordan Smith.

Starting IU goalkeeper Andrew Sim (Interboro) played just over 59 minutes making 18 saves to be credited with the win.

Kevin Glenn (Penncrest) collected a team-high seven ground balls, and Max Bassett and Sim both grabbed five loose balls. Bassett also caused a team-best four Griffin turnovers in the contest.

Junji Wiener and Mark Winkelspecht both finished with two goals for the Griffins. DJ Klusaritz also tallied three points on one goal and two assists. Dakota Maurer played 60 minutes inside the crease for Chestnut Hill making 14 saves in the loss.

Ursinus 9, Washington College 8

Jeff Ocampo and Davis Kraus each tallied three goals and Eric Farris (Pottsgrove) added a pair as the visiting Bears (7-0) continued their best start in school history and improved to 4-0 in the Centennial Conference.

Eastern 7, Widener 5

Will Johnson scored three goals and Aaron Benz made 11 saves as Eastern (3-2, 1-0) claimed the MAC win.

Cory Malampy (Ridley) had a goal and an assist for Widener (1-4, 0-1) and Bobby Schulter (Tatnall School, DE, Kennett Square) had 16 saves in goal.

Muhlenberg 10, Haverford 9, OT

Alex Ardolino scored his fifth goal in overtime to lift the Mules (3-2, 2-1) to the Centennial Conference win. Myles Monaghan had four goals and an assist for Haverford (4-4, 0-2).
