Men’s college honors: Quinnipiac’s Oppenheimer (Germantown Ac.), Villanova’s Karalunas

Quinnipiac junior attackman Jack Oppenheimer was named to the ECAC Honor Roll and Lax.com Hot List for his six-point effort Saturday during a 10-8 loss to Ohio State.

Oppenheimer tallied four goals and two assists for the Bobcats (4-2, 1-2). Oppenheimer leads Quinnipiac in scoring with 14 goals and four assists.

Villanova’s Karalunas earns Big East Defensive Player of the Week

Villanova junior long stick midfielder Brian Karalunas led a defensive effort in a 10-8 victory over No. 11 Drexel to grab BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.

Karalunas collected six ground balls and caused a game-high eight turnovers as Villanova won its second straight over a top-20 opponent. The Wildcats held the Dragons to four goals through the first three quarters of the game.

Also for the Wildcats, senior attackman Paul Webber earned Honor Roll distinction for scoring four goals against Drexel.
