Manion Foundation holding 2nd annual Operation Care Package for military overseas

The Travis Manion Foundation will be holding its 2nd Annual Operation Care Package Holiday Outreach on Nov. 6 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Doylestown beginning at 10 a.m.

Last year the Foundation – created to honor the memory of former La Salle lacrosse standout and 1st Lt. Travis Manion, USMC – was able to create over 1,100 care packages to be sent overseas to service member, in less than three hours.

St. Paul’s is located on 301 N. Main St. The event will be held until noon. Items and monetary donations are gratefully accepted.

Manion, a 1999 La Salle graduate, attended the US Naval Academy and upon graduation was accepted as an officer with the Marine Corps. Manion’s family was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with Valor for their son’s bravery during two deployments to Iraq.

• Eye Drops
• Baby wipes
• Mouth wash
• Toothpaste
• Toothbrush
• Pens
• Foot powder
• Razors
• Body Wash
• Lotion
• Chapstick
• Shaving cream
• Shampoo
• Deodorant
• AA Batteries (4 packs are the best)
• Singles Drink Mixes (coffee, power drinks, kool aid etc)
• Candy /Gum (hard candy or heat tolerant candy like tootsie rolls, Mike & Ikes, no chocolate please)

Travel sized items are recommended; this best suits the needs of our troops
