The 4th Annual Upper Darby 7v7 Fall Lacrosse Tourney will be held on Sunday, October 17th at Drexel Hill Middle School. The fee for each team is $300.00. Please contact Walt Udovich at 610-622-7000, ext. 419 or e-mail him at wudovich@upperdarbysd.org
The 7th Annual Brian Houshower Lacrosse Festival will be held Saturday, Oct 23, (rain date 10/30/10) at Downingtown West High School. This 10v10 Tournament, which honors the memory of the former Downingtown West lacrosse player, is for high school players only. There is 3-game minimum with playoffs and championship games in both A and B divisions.
This tournament, sponsored by Downingtown West Boys Lacrosse, is competitive and has grown into one of the established high school boys Fall Tournaments in the region. The cost is $625.00 per team. Please contact Andrea Beneke at Andrea.beneke@verizon.net for more information or to register.
The Fall Brawl #5 and Middle School Lacrosse Play Day will be held on Nov. 7 and No. 14 at The Haverford School. The price is $600 per team; 5th and 6th Grade Divisions on Sunday November 7, 7th and 8th Grade Divisions – Sunday November 14. The 2nd Annual Care for the Cure Lacrosse Tournament, for girls’ and boys’ high school teams as well as men’s and women’s post collegiate teams, will be held at Henderson High, Nov. 7. The rain date: is Nov. 14. On August 15, 2008 Caroline (Care) Cranston, at 24 years old, was diagnosed with leukemia. In high school, Care played lacrosse for Henderson and continued her lacrosse career at Duquesne University. On May 8, 2010 she passed away after fighting for 21 months. This charity tournament benefits the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS), as well as a scholarship in Caroline’s name. In 2009, $8,000 was raised for the LLS and we plan on raising much more this year.
The tournament will be held on five fields at Henderson, including two turf fields. Games will be 50 minutes in duration and played according to U.S. Lacrosse Women’s rules at a cost of $600 per team. The Strath Haven Fall Lax Fest will be held for boys’ lacrosse teams on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Strath Haven High. The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature a tournament format, with three games guaranteed for each team. Games feature two halves, 20-minute running.
There will be three divisions: Varsity A, Varsity B and Freshman/JV. the rain date is Nov. 20. Registration fees are $550 is paid in full by Oct. 15 and are $600 if after that date.
