La Salle recognized its three Atlantic 10 Coaches of the Year – including Haverford High alum Candace Taglianetti (women’s lacrosse) – at a media timeout during tonight’s men’s basketball game with #12 Villanova.
Also honored were coaches Pat Farrell (men’s soccer), Mike Lake (baseball).
Taglianetti led her Explorers to the Atlantic 10 Tournament and a #2 seed. The Explorers set program records for most victories and conference wins in a season.
In addition, IWLCA National Scholar-Athlete of the Year Jill Davis (Ridley) was recognized at a timeout. Davis was one of a conference-best four A-10 Student-Athletes of the Year and an Academic All-American.
La Salle was also the only school with two national scholar-athletes of the year as she teamed with men’s basketball’s Yves Mekongo to receive the honor.
