Haverford School’s Walrath, Walters named by as top midfielders in Class of 2011

Haverford School’s Carl Walrath and Matt Walters have been listed today by as two of the top midfielders in the country in the website’s weekly “Class of 2011” feature.

Walrath was a US Lacrosse All-American who collected 35 goals and 48 assists last year mostly at attack for the Fords, who shared the Inter-Ac League crown and went 20-4. Walrath also was an ESPN RISE warrior 40 pick who played for Team Philly in the Under Armour Underclassmen Games. Walrath has committed to play at Virginia.

Walters scored 30 goals for the Fords last year and was a First Team Inter-Ac League pick. He also was a member of the Philly Under Armour team and joined Walrath on the squad.

The Fords have now placed four players on the lists of top seniors. Last week Haverford School’s Goran Murray was named on defense and two weeks ago goalie Conor Kelly was cited. No other Philly players have been honored.
