Friday’s women’s college roundup: Philly girls lead teams to victories

Kelly Haggerty (Unionville) had two goals and three assists and Gabby Capuzzi (Archbishop Carroll) added a goal, three draw controls and two caused turnovers as visiting Ohio State (2-1) downed Cal-Berkeley Friday in women’s lacrosse action.

Northwestern 18, Stanford 11

Colleen Magarity (Germantown Academy) had three groundballs and two caused turnovers to help the No. 1 Wildcats (2-0) down the host Cardinal. Julie Christy (Conestoga) had three goals, one assist and three groundballs for No. 15 Stanford (1-2), which tied the game, 10-10, early in the second half until the ‘Cats took over.

Louisville 19, Binghamton 8

Bergan Foley (Gwynedd Mercy Academy) had four goals, one assist and four groundballs to help the Cardinals (3-0) win at Binghamton.

North Carolina 22, Oregon 5

Emily Garrity (Strath Haven) had three draw controls, two caused turnovers and two groundballs as the Tar Heels improved to 4-0.
