Sophomore Charlotte Wood (Conestoga) poured in five goals as visiting Drexel rolled to a 16-8 victory over Saint Mary’s (Cal.) Friday.
The match-up was the first all-time between the two squads. The Dragons’ victory moved them to 8-1 on the season and tied their win total from a season ago. Katie Lawson and Becca Drylie-Perkins each added three goals apiece while the Gaels fell to 3-5.
La Salle 16, St, Bonaventure 9
Jill Davis (Ridley) and Lauren McDermott (North Penn) scored five goals apiece as the Explorers (5-4) opened A-10 play with a victory.
Richmond 15, Temple 14
Chelsea Rosiek (Wissahickon) notched four goals and four assists in a losing effort for the Owls (2-4, 0-1) in their Atlantic-10 opener.
Georgetown 20, Villanova 7
Mary Beth Brophy (Archbishop Carroll) scored twice for the Hoyas (3-4) in their Big East opening-day rout of the Wildcats (6-2).
Justine Donodeo led the ‘Cats with four goals.
Duquesne 13, St. Joseph’s 10
Grace Dinn had four goals and Julie Mineweaser (Nortrh Penn) added three for the Hawks (2-8), who opened their A-10 season with a loss.
