From Press Releases

Drexel has announced the release of its 2011 women’s lacrosse schedule.

The Dragons will open the season with a two-game road trip to the nation’s capital as Drexel opens the season against American on Feb. 16 and before facing George Washington on Feb. 19. Drexel will then return to Philadelphia to face city-rivals Saint Joseph’s and Penn at each of their home venues.

The Dragons play their first home game on March 6 against Bucknell. They will then continue their six-game home stand, facing Binghamton, La Salle, California, St. Mary’s (Calif.) and Johns Hopkins all in the month of March.

The Dragons will begin Colonial Athletic Association play with a game on the road at Towson, which finished second in the conference last season.

Other CAA road games on the schedule include Old Dominion, William & Mary and Hofstra. The Dragons will host CAA rivals Delaware on April 10, as well as 2010 CAA women’s lacrosse champions James Madison on April 22. In the final home game of the season, Drexel will host George Mason before finishing up the season on the road at Hofstra.
