Jordan Wolf tallied six goals, including the game-winner with 3 minutes, 22 seconds to play as Lower Merion edged Central Bucks East, 11-10, today in the completion of a District 1 fifth-place playback game at Radnor.
The game was started Thursday and suspended at halftime with the Aces leading, 7-6.
Wolf’s goal gave Lower Merion a date with District 11 champion Emmaus in the first round of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) tournament on Tuesday at Allentown’s J. Birney Stadium (5 p.m.). Emmaus, which defeated Allentown Central Catholic, 11-6, in the championship game Friday night, eliminated Lower Merion last year in the first round of states.
CB East will meet District 1 runner-up Springfield-Delco at Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. at Harriton in the first round of the state tourney.
Andrew Mongeluzzi and Ahmad Zachary each added two goals for Lower Merion and Joey Shallow had a goal and an assist while Hank Altschuler made 12 saves in goal.
Brendan Coleman led East with four goals and Colin McSherry added two goals and one assist.
