The dates for the Philly boys’ and girls’ tryouts for the Under Armour Underclassmen Classic at Eastern University have been moved due to a scheduling conflict.
Originally slated for Wednesday and Thursday, June 16-17, the boys’ tryouts will now be held on Monday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 16. The tryouts will still be held at Eastern University in Radnor Township from 5:30-8 p.m. each evening.
The girls’ tryouts, originally slated for June 14-15, will be held on Tuesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 17. Those tryouts will be held from 5-8 p.m. as previously scheduled at Eastern.
The Philly boys’ team is being coached by Springfield-Delco coach Mike Friel. Downingtown East’s Caitlin Barbakoff is coaching the Philly girls’ team.
Players can register to try out directly on the Under Armour website at www.underarmourlacrosse.com.
Eight teams – from Philly, New Jersey, Baltimore, Upstate New York, the Midwest, Washington D.C. Long Island and New England will compete in pool play on July 3 and then championship play July 4 at Towson University. Each team will be guaranteed four games and the event will be attended by numerous college coaches.
