From Press Releases

The 11th-ranked Cabrini men’s lacrosse team has completed its 10th consecutive unbeaten regular season in conference play, downing Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Marywood University, 15-8, on the road Thursday night. The Cavaliers’ ninth straight win extends their NCAA Division III-best conference win streak to 77 straight games.

Including the postseason, Cabrini has won 94 consecutive contests against CSAC opponents dating back to the 2001 season. The victory against the Pacers also assures the Cavaliers the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the CSAC Tournament.

Senior attackman and 2010 Tewaaraton Award candidate Casey Grugan (Ridley) and junior midfielder Paul Skulski (Garnet Valley HS) each tallied six points. Skulski netted four goals and handed out two assists. Grugan paired three scores with three assists.

Senior attackman Steve Kapp (La Salle/ 3G) and freshman attackman Bobby Thorp (1G, 2A) each notched three points. Junior midfielder Dan Terenick (Ridley) chipped in two points with one goal and one assist.

Cabrini’s 10 straight conference regular season titles have all been won under the leadership of 10th-year head coach Steve Colfer. The win against the Pacers also stands as the 135th in Colfer’s career.

Cabrini (12-3, 6-0) will host the semifinal round of the CSAC Tournament at Edith Robb Dixon Field on Tuesday, May 3. The opponent and game time will be announced.
