Senior attack Amanda Alexandrowicz (Ridley) pumped in eight goals and Jamie O’Hanlon (Springfield-Delco) tallied the geme-winner with 2:38 to play to give visiting Cabrini College a 13-12 victory over Scranton for its first win of the year Thursday.
O’Hanlon finished with three goals and Danielle Rothermel (St. Hubert) also tallied three points, pairing two scores with one assist.
Senior goalkeeper Kate Schmid (St. Hubert) made the start in goal for the Cavaliers and posted 18 stops in 60 minutes played. The Lady Royals’ offense attempted 16 total free-position shots, but converted only five for scores against Schmid.
Deanna Giorno (Central Bucks South) led the Lady Royals’ offense with five points on four goals and one assist. Leslie Connelly tallied three points with three goals and Kristin Pickell (Wissahickon) scored twice.
Kathleen Smart (Archbishop Wood) and Cassie Murphy split time in between the pipes for Scranton, each logging 30 minutes. Smart posted seven saves and Murphy notched five stops.
Alvernia 21, Neumann 6
Sarah George (Bayard Rustin), Felicia Sippel (St. Hubert) and Alyssa Verillo (Archbishop Wood) each scored three goals and Megan Corrigan (Boyertown) and Allison Bainbridge (Pottsgrove0 each added a pair for Alvernia (2-0).
Alex Bohen (Upper Merion) had four goals for Neumann (1-3).
Messiah 21, Arcadia 7
Rachel Dirksen (Abington) pumped in six goals for Messiah (1-2) in an MAC game. Stephanie Holguin led Arcadia (0-2) with three tallies.
Franklin and Marshall 14, Rowan 4
Meredith Lussier (Radnor) tallied five goals and Maggie Shields (Baldwin School) added one as the the No. 1 Dips (3-0) cruised.
Division II
American International 21, Chestnut Hill College 7
Maryanne Glass had four goals for the Griffins in their season opener.
Men
Dartmouth 18, Wagner 9
Cody Isdaner (Episcopal Academy) had two goals and an assist for Wagner (0-4).
