The Twist Lacrosse White Team captured the HS Freshman Division Championship at the Jersey Shootout this past weekend.

Twist went 4 – 0 in pool play, defeating Team Paragon (CT) 9-0, CT Gators 12-1, South Shore Seals 9-1, and Rip It 2013 (CT) 8-4 in Group play; giving up only 6 goals in the process to earn entry to the Finals.

The Championship game paired Twist against an undefeated Patriot Red team, consisting of players from NJ lacrosse powerhouse Delbarton Prep. Patriot had entered the Finals with a 4-0 record in Group play yielding only 4 goals all tournament.

After a close first half which ended with Twist leading 5 – 4, Twist closed the door on the Patriot offense and pulled away for a decisive 8 – 4 victory. This marks the 2nd tournament Championship in a row for Twist White (having won the HS Rising Division
