Bucks County Sr. boys take bronze medal at Keystone Games

Bucks County defeated Delaware County, 6-5, Sunday afternoon to win the bronze medal in the Sr. boys division at the Keystone State Games at State College.

Bucks County went 4-1 in pool play losing only to silver medalist Lehigh in its first game of the tournament. The team then rattled off four straight wins, beating Great Lakes, Metro,

York and traditional pool rival Chester County. The record gave Bucks the second seed in the Commonwealth division, putting it in the Final Four.

Bucks County dropped a tough 5-4 decision to eventual gold medal winner Blue Mountain in the semifinals. Chris Schneekloth (Central Bucks East) had the game-winner in the bronze medal game while Nick Gugliemi (Council Rock South), Matt Brodzik (CB East), Tyler Brittin (CB South), Brett Incolingo (Holy Ghost Prep) and Brendan Coleman (CB East) each scored once.

The Bucks team was comprised of members of seven different schools and members of Twist, LB3, and Select lacrosse club teams. This was the first Keystone medal for Bucks at the U19 level and the coaches would like to thank the area coaches and parents that supported the effort.
