Boston Blazers avenge early-season NLL loss to Wings, claim 11-9 home victory

Dan Dawson and Darryl Veltman each scored four goals as the host Boston Blazers handed the Philadelphia Wings, an 11-9 loss this afternoon in National Lacrosse League action.

The Blazers (2-3) took a 3-1 first-period lead and avenged an early-season loss (12-8) to Philadelphia (1-3) as Anthony Cosmo made 38 saves.

Mat Giles led the Wings with three goals and two assists while Kyle Wailes had two goals and two assists and Drew Westervelt had a goal and four assists. Kevin Huntley added two goals for Philadelphia and Bill McGlone (Ridley) had a goal and an assist. Geoff Snider won 12 of 19 face-offs for the Wings and scooped seven loose balls. Brandon Miller had 30 saves for Philadelphia.
