Garnet Valley senior attack Allie Henry has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I lacrosse at La Salle University.
Henry was an All-Central League Second Team pick in 2009 when she led the Jaguars in goals with 54.
Henry, who plays club lacrosse for Lenape Premier, also plays field hockey. At La Salle, Henry, who has 95 career goals, will play for second-year coach Candice Taglianetti, a Haverford High graduate.
An Honor Roll student, Henry’s first choice of major is in education.
“I am excited to play under Coach Taglianetti,” Henry said. “Her coaching style and intensity will really help to improve my level of play and hopefully I will be an integral part in moving La Salle’s women’s lacrosse program strong and a force to be reckoned with.”
Henry is one of three Garnet Valley seniors to sign a Letter of Intent. The others are attack Tori Mitros (George Mason) and Kelsey O’Donnell (Duquesne).
At La Salle, Henry will join North Penn seniors Kaitlin Colbridge and Danielle Horn, along with senior Kelly Collins of Marple Newtown.
Last year the Jaguars went 9-10 and reached the District 1 playoffs. With the group of returnees and a new coach, Garnet Valley graduate and former Villanova assistant Kate Henwood, Henry is looking forward to the upcoming season.
“My goals for this season are to continue working with the great girls on the Garnet Valley team to help the Lady Jags go further in the Central League,” she said.
